Merrimack motorcyclist dies Monday following weekend crash

MERRIMACK — A motorcyclist who was seriously injured in a weekend crash died Monday at Massachusetts General Hospital, according to a hospital spokesman.

Stephen Hill, 59, of 105 Bedford Road, succumbed to injuries suffered Saturday afternoon when he lost control of his 1981 Yamaha 650 motorcycle near his home.

Police said that Hill was traveling west on Bedford Road when he left the paved portion of the roadway and traveled across the front lawn at 73 Bedford Road, losing control of the bike.

Hill was thrown from the motorcycle onto a residential driveway, according to police. He sustained life-threatening injuries and was flown to Massachusetts General Hospital after the accident.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the local police department at 424-3774.
