Salem commission may look at future trail systems
During a recent commission meeting, member Stephanie Tetreault said she would like to see the town look into new trails, or possibly a boardwalk into World End Pond.
Commission member Linda Harvey noted that the town does have a large conservation area surrounded by conservation easements in North Salem that abuts the Windham Town Forest that could be a possible area for trail development.
“It wasn’t being maintained because all the owners didn’t want to get involved in maintaining it,” said Dumont.
“At this point I think the commission has pretty much all it can handle with Hawkins Farm and the town forest as far as doing trail maintenance,” said Harvey. “I know that other places do have trail committees and that might be an option.”
