Dover senior to study in Russia on scholarshipJune 07. 2014 11:12PM
Erin Bourque, a graduating high school senior in Dover, has been awarded a National Security Language Initiative for Youth scholarship for 2014-15. She will study Russian in Yaroslavl, Russia, for the summer.
The NSLI-Y program is funded by the U.S. Department of State and provides merit-based scholarships for high school students to learn less commonly taught languages in summer and academic-year overseas immersion programs.
The State Department offers about 624 students per year the chance to study Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Persian, Russian, or Turkish overseas through NSLI-Y, which seeks to increase the number of Americans who can engage with native speakers of critical languages.
Applications for 2015-16 NSLI-Y programs are expected to be available at www.nsliforyouth.org in the early fall. For information about U.S. Department of State-sponsored exchange programs, go to exchanges.state.gov.

Families sought for French exchange students
Linda Coffey, local coordinator for the Center for Cultural Interchange
a nonprofit organization. I have been working with cci-greenheart
for the past 6 years both full year students and summer groups. There is a large group of French students coming in this July for three weeks. Currently seeking families
to host. I'm contacting you because of the large group of students coming in and still in need of host families. Would it be possible to get together and go over the program and maybe put a small article in the paper to get the word out. Students can be placed in the NH and Mass area. IF this is possible could you send me an email. I would love to find families soon for the students that way they can contact their host families before their arrival.
