Plant sale, raffle to benefit Manchester Animal Shelter

MANCHESTER - The eighth annual Manchester Animal Shelter plant sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, on the shelter grounds, 490 Dunbarton Road.

The sale will offer a variety of perennials, annuals, herbs, vegetables, houseplants and small shrubs.

The event also will include a raffle of garden and other items donated by garden clubs, businesses and community members.

The Friends of the Manchester Animal Shelter is accepting plant donations through today and raffle donations through Sunday, May 25. Anyone interested in donating plants, empty planting pots (5 to 8 inches), plastic trays or raffle items should email plantsale@manchesteranimalshelter.org. The shelter also is looking for volunteers to help before or during the sale.

If weather is severe, the sale will be moved to Sunday, June 1.
