NHIAA Roundup: Tambouris' heroics lift Trinity lacrosse team


Tyler Tambouris scored five goals, including the game-winner with 17 seconds remaining, to lead Trinity of Manchester (8-2) to a 10-9 win over host Pelham (2-7) in NHIAA boys’ lacrosse action Friday.

Pelham led 6-3 at halftime before the Pioneers surged in the second half. Will Shephard (goal, two assists), Tristan Theroux (goal, assist), Jacob Eldred (three goals, assist) and Conner Lavery (assist) added to the Trinity attack. Austin Kolden made 14 saves in net for the win.

Boys’ lacrosse

Souhegan 15, Exeter 13: At Amherst, Mack Walker (three goals, three assists), Blake Burnley (three goals, three assists) and Joe Nutting (three goals, assist) led the way for Souhegan (9-4). Exeter (7-6) was led by Buddy Carr (five goals and two assists) and Bradley Simas (three goals, assist) and Josh Carr (three goals, assist).

 

 

Windham 15, ConVal 10: At Windham, Troy Peters (four goals, two assists) and Matthew Shea (three goals) were the offensive leaders for the hosts, who improved to 4-6. ConVal of Peterboro dropped to 7-3.

 

 

Pembroke 11, Lebanon 8: At Pembroke, Glenn Dion scored seven goals to lead the way for the Spartans (4-6). Kam Anderson (two goals, assist) and Nick Serafin (two goals) chipped in.

Girls’ lacrosse

Pinkerton 14, Londonderry 8: At Londonderry: Maggie McCarthy scored six goals to lead the Astros of Pinkerton Academy of Derry (13-1). Kennedy Daziel (two goals) and Erin Coutts (three goals, assist) added to the Astros offense. Londonderry (6-6) got two goals and an assist each from Alexa Bedell and Noelle Lambert.

 

 

 

Souhegan 16, Exeter 10: At Exeter, Jesse Jay scored six goals for the visiting Sabers (11-2) from Amherst. Mickenzie Larivee (five goals, four assists), Madison Learned (three goals, two assists) and Jocelyn Dono (goal, assist) helped the Souhegan cause. Exeter (8-4) was led by three goals from Anna Vogt and two each from Kristina Keith and Maddie Ferrari.

 

 

Goffstown 18, Portsmouth 17: At Goffstown, the Grizzlies improved to 4-6 by edging Portsmouth (7-4). Courtney Caron (three goals, two assists), Sarah Cuddy (two goals), Lexi Foster (two goals, assist), Sydney Dubois (three goals, three assists), Anne Steckowych (four goals, two goals), Sydney Gagnon (goal, four assists), Alyssa Bourque (three goals, assist), Molly Norton (assist) all found the score sheet for Goffstown.

 

 

Nashua North 23, Keene 13: At Nashua, Division II (3-7) Keene got three goals each from Kate Martin and Chesy Adams but it was not enough to overcome Division I North’s (9-4) firepower.

ConVal 15, Pelham 7: At Peterborough, Ingrid Aho scored four goals and added two assists, Maddy Zimmermann scored four goals and Autumn Cahoon (two goals) chipped in to lead the way for ConVal (3-8).

 

 

Pembroke 8, ConVal 5: At Peterborough Thursday, Sarah Kolk scored four goals and Ingrid Aho added one for host ConVal but it was not enough.

Baseball

Pembroke 16, Manchester West 6: At Manchester, Noah Cote threw a complete game to earn his first varsity win. Jerry Caruso led the offense with four hits and three RBIs. Vinny Dustin contributed three hits and two RBIs.

 

 

Spaulding 9, Salem 5: At Rochester, host Spaulding (8-5) broke a 5-5 tie with four late runs. Loukas Brigham got the win on the mound and Colton Craig picked up the save. Spaulding got two RBIs each from Justin Jewel and Spencer Hoyt.

Salem (7-6) was led by the bats of Matt Meisner (two hits, two RBIs) and Josh Perrault (three hits, two RBIs).

ConVal 6, Sanborn 4: At Peterborough on Thursday, Joe Edwards threw seven innings with six strikeouts and scattered eight hits. Mathias Fressilli and Dan Allen had two hits each for ConVal.

Softball

Milford 7, Merrimack Valley 2: At Milford, the hosts slugged three home runs to improve to 6-5. Jen Carson hit a two-run home run in third. Erin Tyrell (three-run home run) and Bethany Brewer (solo homer) hit back-to-back blasts. Julia Mazzeo (two hits) and Jen Dupuis (two hits) chipped in as well.
