DERRY — A 7-year-old boy suffered serious injuries Wednesday night when he was struck by a motorist while riding his scooter on a travel lane of Bangs Mobile Home Park, police said.
Tyler Jungkman, of 30 Kendall Pond Road, Lot No. 73, suffered significant but non-life threatening injuries to both arms when he was hit by a GMC Sonoma pickup driven by Kim Flattery, 53, of 30 Kendall Pond Road, Lot 87, Derry police Capt. Vern Thomas said in a news release.
Jungkman was riding his scooter in the driveway at Lot 67 of the mobile home park when he rode into the roadway, striking the right front fender of the passing truck, Thomas said.
Police received a report of the accident at 6:01 p.m., according to the release.
No one else was injured in the accident. Derry police are conducting further investigation into this incident. No charges have been filed, and speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision, according to the release.
Jungkman was initially taken by ambulance to Parkland Medical Center and later transferred to Boston Children’s Hospital, Thomas said.
