DERRY — A local man has been charged with possessing child pornography after police executed a search warrant at his residence Thursday, seizing several computers.
Calin Lapeer, 29, whose address according to police is an apartment at 5 Linlew Drive, is charged with two counts of possession of child sexual abuse images, a class A felony, as noted in a news release by Derry police Capt. Vern Thomas.
At 10:36 a.m., Derry detectives, assisted by detectives assigned to the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, executed the search warrant at Lapeer’s residence.
The search was associated with an ongoing investigation involving the illegal use of computers and alleged possession of sexual abuse images of children at that address, Thomas said.
During the search, Derry police seized a number of computers, additional computer hardware, along with Lapeer’s 2009 Chevy pickup. Detectives are further investigating the case and anticipate additional related charges against Lapeer, Thomas said.
Lapeer is being held at the Derry Police Department on $10,000 cash bail, pending arraignment Thursday afternoon before the 10th Circuit Court–Derry District.
