Two NH men get prison time for heroin trafficking

PORTLAND, Maine — Two New Hampshire men who were part of a heroin trafficking organization were sentenced Thursday to federal prison terms in Maine, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Maine.

Mitch Merritt, 30, of Rochester, N.H., was sentenced to 12 1/2 years and Scott Woodman, 29, of Farmington, N.H., was sentenced to 65 months in prison, the release said.

The men pleaded guilty last year to being part of a group that helped bring heroin from Lawrence, Mass., to customers in Maine and New Hampshire from 2011 through February 2013, the release said.
