Crane tire blows, driver hits trees on Route 101 in Epping

EPPING - A large construction crane traveling eastbound on Route 101 Monday morning had a blowout in a front tire, causing the driver to veer off the road and hit some trees.
The driver, Merrill Johnson, 75, of Hooksett was uninjured in the crash that happened at 7:18 a.m.
Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop A closed the right travel lane on Route 101 eastbound as crews removed the vehicle.
Assisting at the scene was the New Hampshire State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit.
This incident remains under investigation by Trooper Anthony Cattabriga. Anyone with information is asked to call Trooper Cattabriga at 223-8490.
