NHIAA Roundup: Windham's Lippold hits assist milestone
Windham High School boys’ volleyball senior setter Tucker Lippold broke the 1,000 assist milestone Friday in Windham’s 3-0 win over Bishop Guertin of Nashua.
Lippold entered the game seven assists away from the mark and registered 11.
Sarah Lavallee allowed just one run, scattering nine hits and striking out nine to lead Manchester Central (7-2) to a 6-1 win over host Timberlane of Plaistow in NHIAA sofatball action Friday.
The Owls (8-1) were unbeaten heading into the game.
Lavallee also added two hits and two RBIs on offense and was helped by Allie Jacques (three RBIs) and Kindred St. Germain (4-for-4 at the plate). Christina Nye added two hits and an RBI for Timberlane.
Pelham 5, Prospect Mountain 2: At Pelham, Jordan Parece drove in two runs with a double in the fourth inning to lead Pelham and got the win on the mound.
Hannah Paitchel added two hits and Emily Bevens chipped in with a hit and run scored for Pelham (4-3). Prospect Mountain fell to 3-2.
Exeter 2, Merrimack 1: At Merrimack, McKenzie McGrath had two hits and an RBI and Sam Henry got the win on the mound for Exeter (4-3). Merrimack (3-4) had an RBI triple from Renee Leclaire.
Dover 4, Londonderry 3: At Dover, Molly St. Germain was the winning pitcher and also drove in the tying and winning runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Green Wave improved to 4-3.
St. Germain allowed only six hits, two of which came off the bat of Londonderry’s Sam Harris. Harris, Colleen Lewis and Lauren Reinhold drove in the Londonderry runs, and Shannon Crowley was 1-for-2 with a walk for the Lancers (3-4).
Raymond 16, Bow 2: At Bow, Kim McLaughlin had a career-high 12 strikeouts and added an RBI to lead the way. McKenna West-Coates chippined in a career-high four hits and three RBIs. Raymond is now 4-1 while Bow fell to 0-4. Falcons pitcher Emily Manning had two hits.
Kingswood 10, Pembroke 4: At Pembroke, Liam Wright had a two-run single and Jerry Caruso led the Spartans (1-5) with two hits but it was not enough to get past Kingswood (4-3).
Portsmouth Christian 4, Derryfield 2: At Dover, Portsmouth Christian scored twice in the fifth inning to break a 2-2 tie. Kyle Slevira went 3-for-4 with a double to lead Derryfield (1-4). PCA improved to 6-1.
Manchester Central 2, Timberlane 1: At Manchester, Collin Duffley threw a complete game with nine strikeouts and four hits allowed. Dario Vitagliano hit a hard ground single down third base line to score Nick Makris (3-for-3) in the sixth inning for the winning run. Central improved to 3-4 while Timberlane fell to 6-3.
Alvirne 3, Keene 1: At Hudson, Fred Zeca gave Keene a 1-0 lead in the first with an RBI single, but Derek Hudson threw a complete game (the fourth in a row for Alvirne) and Matt McKinley had two hits and two RBIs, scoring a run as well. Cam Blake had two hits and Jason Hudson added two more. Alvirne is now 4-3 while Keene fell to 5-3.
Salem 2, Pinkerton 1: At Derry, Nick Shumski scored what turned out to be the game-winning run on an error in the top of the seventh inning to help Salem raise its Division I record to 4-3. C.J. Beaulieu collected the win for pitching 4 1/3 scoreless innings of relief. The loss dropped Pinkerton’s record to 6-3.
ConVal 8, John Stark 1: At Weare, Joe Edwards threw six innings, giving up three hits and no earned runs. Ivon Clough, Mathias Fressilli and Matt Davis each had two hits for ConVal.
Hanover 4, Lebanon 1: At Lebanon, Jake Farnham had two hits and drove in two runs to help Hanover even its Division II record at 1-1. Hanover scored three of its four runs in the first inning. Rohan Kumar pitched the first four innings to collect the win. Lebanon was held to four hits.
Londonderry 14, Salem 5: At Londonderry, the Lancers (6-2) got out to an 8-1 lead after one frame and never looked back.
Londonderry was led by Kyle Hussey (four goals), Nick Yennaco (two goals, two assists), Shayne Holland (three goals) and David Wiedenfeld (goal, four assists).
Salem (2-6) was paced by Oliver Oulett with two goals and Andrew Phillips, James Devlin and Tim Craig with a goal each.
Derryfield 24, Manchester West 0: At Manchester, Mike Chaisson (three goals, three assists), Grant Alenson (four goals, assist), Connor Jackson (three goals, three assists), Simon Levenson (two goals, two assists), Peter Thompson (two goals, two assists) led the way for the Cougars (6-0). Goalies Allen Mello and Tommy Cissel combined on the shutout with a save each. West fell to 1-5.
Souhegan 21, Concord 8: At Concord, six different Sabers scored at least two goals in the decisive victory. Mack Walker (four goals, three assists), Mitch Hale (three goals, two assists) and Zach Bossi (four goals, two assists) led the way, followed by Chayce Horton (two goals, one assist) and Jack Rives and Mikey Hayden, who scored twice each. Brendan Cray added a goal and three assists. Souhegan improved to 4-2.
Tyler Martell and Dan Lebell scored two goals each for Concord (1-5).
Pembroke 5, Kearsarge 1: At North Sutton, Kam Anderson, Glenn Dion (two goals), Zach Blye and Max Putnam tallied for the Spartans.
ConVal 15, Belmont 3: At Peterborough, Zoe Paige scored four goals and an assist and Ingrid Aho had four goals to lead ConVal (3-5).
Pinkerton 20, Manchester Central 1: At Derry, Kennedy Daziel (four goals, two assists), Maggie McCarthy (three goals), Sierra Sanchez (two goals) and Ali Davis (two goals) were the big scorers for Pinkerton (9-0.
Central (1-6) got its goal from Sarah Tomogan.
