Dave Solomon's Granite Status: GOP keeping FEC complaint front and center

By Dave Solomon, New Hampshire Union Leader
April 29. 2014 10:34AM

Former New Hampshire governor, White House chief of staff and Republican state party chariman John H. Sununu is doing his part to keep the party's complaint over third-party advertising front and center.

On Tuesday he called on Senator Harry Reid and Senator Jeanne Shaheen to pull the third party ad pending the outcome of a federal review into potentially illegal coordination. The New Hampshire Republican Party yesterday formally filed a request with the Federal Elections Commission for an investigation:

"Serious questions have been raised about potential illegal coordination between Senator Harry Reid and Senator Jeanne Shaheen, and now a federal investigation is pending. While the Federal Elections Commission investigation is ongoing, the people of New Hampshire should not be subjected to this kind of misrepresentation on the airwaves," he said.

HAVENSTEIN NAMES FUNDRAISERS: Republican candidate for governor Walt Havenstein has named Beverly Bruce of Tuftonboro as chair and Chris Wolfe of Derry as co-chair of his campaign’s fundraising efforts.

“I’m delighted to welcome Beverly and Chris to the team," he said. "They bring extensive campaign experience and unmatched track records of fundraising in New Hampshire.”

Bruce served as the New Hampshire finance chair for Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign. She was a senior executive at IBM in the early 1990s, where her focus was software marketing. She later served as the executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Exodus Communications and founded a consulting company, which provided strategy and planning services to major corporations and emerging startups. Bruce serves on numerous private and non-profit advisory boards.

Wolfe served as the Rockingham County chair for Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, and was the chairman of the Derry Republican Town Committee for 10years. Wolfe is currently president and CEO of MNR Technology Inc., a computer hardware manufacturer. He serves on the board of the British American Business Council of New England and is a trustee of several charitable organizations.
