A Taylor Dugas triple in the top of the ninth inning scored Yeral Sanchez with what turned out to be the game-winning run as the Trenton Thunder defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 2-1, Monday at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

The loss ended New Hampshire’s five-game winning streak and dropped the team’s Eastern League record to 11-11. Trenton improved to 15-9 despite committing five errors.

Trenton took a 1-0 lead in the seventh, but the Fisher Cats tied the contest when A.J. Jimenez scored on Brad Glenn’s groundout in the bottom of the eighth.

First baseman Mike McDade had two of New Hampshire’s four hits. Glenn (double) and Andy Burns (single) had the two other hits.

New Hampshire starter Aaron Sanchez pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings and lowered his ERA to 2.10. He surrendered five hits, struck out six and walked two. Richard Bleier allowed two runs on four hits in 2 2/3 innings and took the loss.

Yeral Sanchez and Gary Sanchez each had two hits for Trenton. Taylor Garrison collected the win for tossing three innings of scoreless relief. Cole Kimball retired one batter to record the save.

The teams are scheduled to meet again tonight (6:35) in Manchester. The scheduled starters are New Hampshire’s Deck McGuire (3-1, 2.54) and Trenton’s Joel De La Cruz (.2-2, 3.86).
