Fisher Cats steal home, beat New Britain

A.J. Jimenez drove in two runs to lead the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to a 7-5 Eastern League win against the Rock Cats Wednesday at New Britain Stadium. The Fisher Cats improved to 7-10 and New Britain dropped to 5-12.

Andy Burns doubled and tripled and scored three runs for the Fisher Cats.

In the second inning, Burns tripled and stole home with two outs. Andy Fermin also had two hits to lead New Hampshire’s eight-hit attack.

New Hampshire starter Aaron Sanchez was touched up for five hits and four runs in four innings. Richard Bleier (1-1) got the win, allowing one run and one hit over four innings.

Gregory Infante gained his fourth season save for the Fisher Cats.

New Hampshire closes out its road trip today at 10:35 a.m., sending righthander Deck McGuire (2-1, 3.43) to the hill. New Hampshire returns home to open a three-game series Friday at 6:35 p.m. against Reading at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
