DERRY - Lucien Goguen, 49, who told police he is homeless, was arrested just minutes after allegedly robbing the TD Bank branch at 35 Manchester Road at approximately 11:25 a.m. Tuesday.
Following a search, he was found by police on Scobie Pond Road at 11:33 a.m. and was charged with robbery, a Class B felony, Derry police Capt. Vern Thomas said in a news release.

According to police, bank employees said a man entered the bank at about 11:25 a.m. and handed the teller a grocery bag and a note instructing her to put money into the bag, Thomas said. After the teller complied, the man took the bag containing an undetermined amount of cash and fled from the bank on foot. He was last seen walking away from the bank and heading west.
No one was injured in the incident and no weapon was shown, Thomas said.

Derry police officers and detectives quickly responded to the scene and conducted an extensive search for the suspect, Thomas said. At 11:33 a.m., officers checked a man walking on Scobie Pond Road who matched the physical description of the suspect but he was wearing different clothes, Thomas said.

A New Hampshire State Police K9 unit was requested and responded to assist in the search. The K9 search located discarded clothes in the wooded area between TD Bank and the area where the man was detained. The clothing appeared to match witness descriptions of clothing worn by the robbery suspect.

Cash and a grocery bag were also recovered in the area, Thomas said.

Goguen declined bail and will be arraigned before the 10th Circuit Court, Derry District Division.

In the early afternoon, a police cruiser was parked in front of the bank, which was closed. A sign posted on the front door directed customers to TD Bank's Londonderry branch.
The Derry police crime scene van was also on scene at the bank.
