Jackson Ski Touring makes top U.S. skiing list
JACKSON - Ski Trax Magazine writer Marty Hall thinks Jackson Ski Touring Center is tops, and has named it to his list of "Favorite Skiing Sites." The February/March 2014 issue announced the good news.
"This is a small town dedicated to cross-country skiing big time, and you'll know you are in Jackson, N.H., when you go through the covered bridge." Hall writes. "There's cross-country skiing for everyone - top of Wildcat to the center, downhill all the way, continuous easy loops for kilometers, honking ups and the Wave is a builder of downhill techniques on a World Cup loop."
Hall certainly knows cross-country skiing and has the knowledge of 22 years of coaching both the U.S. and Canadian national and Olympic ski teams behind his writing. He spent two years coaching the U.S. Biathlon Team in Alaska.
"Hall says "there are a ton of places," he likes to ski but topping his list are locations in Alaska, Canada, Colorado and New Hampshire. He has traveled more than 20 countries and has skied at hundreds of locations.
"It's an honor to be recognized by Marty Hall on his list of favorites," said Thom Perkins, executive director of the Jackson Ski Touring Center. "We take great pride in the quality of cross-country skiing our guests experience here in Jackson."
Jackson Ski Touring also was rated the No. 1 cross-country ski area in the United States by America's Best Online in 2012 and named "the most well-conceived and executed Nordic skiing operation in the country" by Cross Country Ski Magazine.
Jackson reports a fabulous ski season with stellar conditions and a record number of skiing days, with consistent snowfall and grooming.
