Rep. Shea-Porter honored for efforts to aid in health care by National Association of Community Health Centers
MANCHESTER — 1st District U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter was honored Monday for her efforts promoting health care.
Shea-Porter, D-N.H., received the Distinguished Community Health Advocate Award, given by the National Association of Community Health Centers.
“I’m honored to receive this award,” Shea-Porter said in a release. “I remain committed to ensuring that all Granite Staters, including our most vulnerable, have access to quality, affordable health care.”
Tess Stack Kuenning, president and CEO of the Bi-State Primary Care Association, presented the award to Shea-Porter. The non-profit organization promotes access to effective and affordable primary care and preventive services in New Hampshire and Vermont.
Shea-Porter was recognized for her continued support of community health centers, according to the release.
