Manchester police search for People's United Bank robber

MANCHESTER -- People's United Bank on Elm Street was robbed about 9 a.m. today, and police are looking for a clean-shaven white man with short black hair.
The man walked into the 1750 Elm St. bank and handed a teller a note that demanded cash. Police said the man kept a hand in a pocket, intimating he was armed although no weapon was seen.
He left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured.
Three police cruisers were parked in the front of the bank, located at Elm and West Salmon streets, about an hour after the robbery took place, while a fourth marked police car was parked in the back near the bank's drive-up.
The robber is described as a clean-shaven white man with short black hair, 35 to 45 years old, about 5-foot-5, with a thin build.
He wore an olive-colored jacket, dark running pants with stripes on the sides and dark shoes.
