Mont Vernon killer James Spader transferred to New Jersey prison
Spokesman Jeff Lyons said it is not uncommon to send inmates elsewhere in exchange for other inmates. He said officials don't give specific reasons for such transfers, but that the most common ones are that the inmate is a threat to the institution or the inmate's personal safety might be threatened.
