New Hampshire's Outstanding Senior Volunteer to be honored
HILLSBORO — Pat Mathison, 69, was chosen as New Hampshire's Outstanding Senior Volunteer as part of the Salute to Senior Service program.
Sponsored by Home Instead Senior Care, the program celebrates the many contributions senior volunteers make in communities across the United States.
Mathison is being recognized for her dedicated community service, including her work at Greater Hillsboro Senior Services, Project Lift, and Hillsboro District Food Pantry. She takes pride in her service to seniors and spends hours each week scheduling activities, composing the monthly newsletter, troubleshooting when a senior has a need that has not been filled, and arranging transportation for seniors who need it.
In recognition of Mathison's contributions, Home Instead Senior Care will donate $500 to Greater Hillsboro Senior Services. She also will be featured on the Salute to Senior Service Wall of Fame, found at SalutetoSeniorService.com.
Mathison will be presented with a citation from Governor Hassan and representatives from Senator Kelly Ayotte and Senator Jeanne Shaheen's offices will read letters to Mathison from the senators. The ceremony, at 12.30 p.m. Thursday, April 10, will be part of Greater Hillsboro Senior Services monthly luncheon, which begins at noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 38 Church St.
