Police say robbery victim stabbed attacker in Litchfield

LITCHFIELD — A man who was stabbed several times last month faces charges including the armed robbery of the man police say did the stabbing.

Johnathan Mandravelis, 24, was arrested March 26 on charges of armed robbery and criminal liability for conduct of another. His arrest came 10 days after police found him with stab wounds during a call on March 16.

Police were able to use cameras recently installed on cruisers to identify witnesses as they left the scene when officers and medical personnel arrived. The photo images led police to several witnesses who were interviewed during the investigation.

Mandravelis and Jeremy McCabe, 27, of Nashua, were trying to rob another man, who fought back and stabbed Mandravelis, Litchfield Police Cpl. Heath Savage said Monday night.

McCabe was arrested Sunday on charges of armed robbery, liability for conduct of another and second-degree assault.

Both remained in jail on Monday night, Savage said.
