McHugh returns as chairman of Hooksett School Board
HOOKSETT — After a decade away, Joanne McHugh returned to the Hooksett School Board Tuesday night and reassumed her former seat as chairman after the new-look seven member board voted unanimously to support her taking the gavel.
The school board, which has five new members, met for the first time Tuesday night. The meeting was delayed a week due to a recount, on Saturday, March 22, in which Amy Boilard maintained a seven-vote edge over challenger Jack Sweeney for a three-year seat.
Boilard was elected vice-chairman by a 6-1 vote, and Todd Lizotte, another new board member, accepted the clerk position, earning the nod by the same tally.
