Swanzey man injured in Keene single-vehicle accident

KEENE — A Swanzey man was badly injured in a crash on Route 12 Monday afternoon.

Gary White, 36, was airlifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, Keene Police Sgt. T.J. Derendal said Tuesday.

Police responded to Route 12 just south of Maple Avenue at 3:05 p.m.

The 2006 Ford pickup truck White was driving skidded, causing it to go off the road and hit a snow bank.

White, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the pickup.

The Ford continued off the road and came to a rest on top of White, injuring his lower extremities, Derendal said.

Keene Fire and Rescue workers extricated White from the vehicle.

“He had pretty significant injuries,” Derendal said.

The crash is under investigation, he said.
