Biden’s visit: On the job training

March 23. 2014 3:46PM

Vice President Joe Biden is to visit New Hampshire tomorrow to promote “workforce development and the value of on-the-job training.” Great. On-the-job training for what jobs?

“You can see the unemployment rate is going down not because people are getting jobs but because people are giving up,” Peter Cappelli, a University of Pennsylvania management professor, told Forbes this month. “You can see the number of long term unemployed has risen, which is a real problem. And the labor force to population ratio continues to drop.”

On-the-job training hasn’t worked out so well for the President or vice president. Obama’s second term will be known as the time when America discovered that Mitt Romney was right. If this President has a job specialty, it is failing the American people. The vice president’s specialty is embarrassing the administration unintentionally. So at least we can look forward to that tomorrow.
