BERLIN — Berlin police arrested Marcel Mason, 28, of Berlin, late Friday afternoon on two counts of possession with the intent to distribute controlled drugs.

Detective Jeff Lemoine said the arrest was the result of a three-month long investigation into the sale of controlled drugs in the Berlin area.

Berlin police applied for and received a search warrant, which they executed Friday at about 4 p.m. at a first floor residence at 166 Blanchard St.

Confiscated was a yet-to-be-determined amount of suspected marijuana and approximately 20 prescription pills of suboxone. Police also confiscated $828 in cash.

Mason was released on $500 cash bail. Other arrests are expected.

This is the second drug arrest made by Berlin police in the last two weeks.

On March 11 Russell Godin, 46, of Berlin, was arrested on one count of manufacture of a controlled drug, marijuana.

He also has been released on bail.
