Citizens Police Academy begins next month

MANCHESTER - The 23rd session of the Citizens Police Academy will begin Wednesday, April 16, at the police station.

The nine-week program is designed to inform citizens about the police department’s role in the community. Held Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m., the program consists of classroom instruction with some limited participation, if a resident so chooses.

Participants can expect an informative session examining different aspects of police work including the glamorous and exciting parts, along with the routine but vital day-to-day operations.

There is no fee to attend the program. Participants must fill out a brief application and undergo a background check before acceptance into the program.

For more information or an application for the program, visit the department’s website at www.manchesterpd.com . Click on the Citizens Police Academy link to access the online application. Space is limited.

For more information, contact officer Mark Ampuja at mampuja@Manchesternh.gov .
