BRENTWOOD — A woman who police said donned a mask and entered her ex-boyfriend's home in Hampton is accused of stalking him for months, breaking into his house and vandalizing his truck.

Dawn Marie Thompson, 42, of Haverhill, Mass., is facing two counts of burglary and single counts of stalking and criminal mischief. The new charges were made public after she was indicted in Rockingham County Superior Court.

Hampton police said that prior to Thompson's arrest on Aug. 9, they had been to the ex-boyfriend's home at least six times for various reports of criminal mischief, burglary and harassment.

Thompson, who briefly worked as a summer school teacher at Haverhill High School last year, allegedly keyed her ex-boyfriend's 2007 Ford Ranger and slashed the vehicle's tires sometime between last June 25 and July 3, according to court records.

The ex-boyfriend and another woman living in the home had recently moved to Hampton from York, Maine, where they also had their home broken into, according to Hampton police.

The first burglary in Hampton happened sometime between last April 9 and 13. Police believe Thompson broke a basement window to enter the home.

A second break-in led to Thompson's arrest.

Hampton police responded to a burglary in progress at the house at 6:58 a.m. on Aug. 9.

The man told police that he confronted a masked Thompson inside the home and she fled.

Police officers came upon the woman walking in the area a short time later. Her car was found a few blocks away from the home near the area of Winnacunnet Road and Acadia Avenue, police said.

Thompson faces up to 3½ to seven years in state prison on burglary and criminal mischief charges. The stalking charge is a misdemeanor.

Thompson, who is free on bail, will be arraigned on the charges March 27 in superior court.
