CENTER OSSIPEE — The man shot multiple times at his Jude Boulevard residence Sunday night is in stable condition at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, according to Ossipee Police Sgt. Robert King.
The victim is John Mason, who is in his 20s, King said. No one has been arrested in the shooting and King said it is too soon to say if the shooting was in retaliation for Mason’s firing at two men who invaded his home Feb. 7, one carrying a knife, seeking money and other items.
Mason was cleared in connection with the shots fired because he was defending himself.
Two men were arrested in connection with that incident: James Brooks, 31, and Jeffrey Lamarche, 36, both of Ossipee and both still in custody, according to King. Lamarche was among nine people arrested in a heroin sale arrest sweep March 10 and is at the New Hampshire State Prison.
There was a third person, who drove the getaway car, according to accounts of the home invasion at the time.
