NASHUA - A portion of Allds Street in downtown Nashua was closed Thursday because of a large water main break.“This is a significant water main, and this caused a reduction in pressure for a majority of the customers in this area of downtown,” said Justin Kates, emergency management director for the city. The water main break occurred Thursday afternoon between Allds and Main streets. At least one school, Mount Pleasant Elementary School, was reportedly without water for a few hours during the height of the break.Pennichuck Corp. was working to isolate the water main break and restore water pressure around 3 p.m., said Kates.Allds Street was closed from Main Street to Spalding Street while crews worked to fix the problem, he said, adding the Hunt Community Parking lot is still accessible.
