Manchester man convicted on drug, weapons counts

March 06. 2014 8:31PM

MANCHESTER — An ex-convict who packaged heroin and sold it out of a room he rented from a Manchester High School art teacher, was convicted on drug and weapons charges this week.

Robert Doane, 28, was convicted of possession of a controlled drug, sale of a controlled drug, being an armed career criminal, being felony in possession of a deadly weapon and receiving stolen property in Hillsborough County Superior Court North.

Doane rented a room for $100 a week at 151 Sagamore St. from Lisa Tagalakis Fedor, 43, who was an art teacher at Central at the time of the arrests in February 2013. Also living at the home was Tagalakis Fedor’s boyfriend, Kristopher White, 22, who also faces charges.

Sentencing for Doane will be in April. Doane, who was on parole on a 2010 burglary conviction at the time of his arrest, had an extensive criminal record that included robberies, burglary, carrying/sale of a weapon, felony theft and violation of probation/parole.

As a result of his criminal record, the armed career criminal conviction alone carries a mandatory minimum 10 years in prison.

Art teacher indicted

Tagalakis Fedor, who was fired by the school district, is scheduled for trial March 17 on charges related to her alleged involvement.

Tagalakis Fedor was indicted by the April 2013 Hillsborough County North grand jury on a Class B felony charge of common nuisance, for maintaining a residence used for the keeping and selling of controlled drugs.

In September 2013, she was indicated on a felony charge of conspiracy to commit sale of a controlled drug, which alleges she conspired with Doane, White and others. In December 2013, she was reindicted on a common nuisance felony.

White was indicted on charges of receiving stolen property, related to guns, and two counts of possession of a controlled drug in April 2013.

He was indicted in September 2013 on a charge of conspiracy to commit sale. At the time of his September indictment, White’s address was listed as 49 Lufkin Road, Weare.

Child welfare counts

Tagalakis Fedor was initially charged with endangering the welfare of a child because her two young sons also lived in the Sagamore Street apartment.

According to court documents released at the time of Tagalakis Fedor’s initial arraignment in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division, she told police that it was convenient to have Doane there so she could leave her children with him while she and White were away from the house. Court documents also show the children’s room was across from the one shared by Tagalakis Fedor and White, where a gun identified as belonging to Doane was left, loaded with hollow point bullets, on top of a dresser.

Police reported finding a marijuana pipe on the dresser and another on the floor and two baggies of a suspected narcotic inside the top dresser drawer.

Police said Tagalakis Fedor told them she kept a Highpoint C-9 semi-automatic pistol on a shelf in her closet in the bedroom. She also told them she and White had recently sold two other handguns.
