Mother, daughter accused of shoplifting at Kohl's in Rochester

A 50-year-old mother and her 27-year-old daughter have been charged with theft by Rochester police after allegedly strolling into a department store and trying to steal merchandise on Saturday.

Robin Kane, 50, and her daughter, Melissa Kane, 27, allegedly strolled into the Kohl's store in Rochester and began hiding merchandise with the intent of leaving the store without paying for it.

The two both gave an address of 29 Beech St., Newmarket.

Mother and daughter were released on $1,500 personal recognizance and will make a joint appearance in Rochester District Court on Mar. 24.
