Brewing supply company moving to North Broadway in Salem
SALEM — The Planning Board will not require a new site plan from Border Brew Supply to move from its current location at 10 Lawrence Road to a more visible site at the Salem Marketplace on North Broadway.
The owners of the popular brewing supply company made the request for the change in retail location to the Planning Board this week.
According to the request to the board, Border Brew is not looking to make the business any larger or change its approach but wants a more visible location. The store will continue to sell brewing supplies as well as four-ounce samples of beer.
The business would be moving from one retail zone on Lawrence Road to another existing retail building on North Broadway. The retail spot in the Salem Marketplace was last a dance studio and has been vacant for nearly two years.
Planning Board Chairman Robert Campbell said the business would be able to move locations without submitting a site plan for the North Broadway site.
“It’s going to a new place in a retail building that has an approved site plan,” said Campbell. “There is no need for a new site plan.”
