Danbury’s Blazing Star Grange to host concert fundraiser on Saturday

DANBURY — The Good Old Plough will perform a concert at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Danbury Grange Hall, depicting the rise and fall of the New Hampshire hill farm.

This benefit performance by area musicians is the first in a series over the next four months to raise money and awareness to support the restoration of a complete set of hand-painted stage curtains that have graced the stage of the Blazing Star Grange hall since 1921.

A potluck supper at 5:30 p.m. will precede the concert. The public is welcome to enjoy the concert and food and learn more about the curtains project. The suggested donation for the concert is $5.

The snow date is Saturday, March 8.

The Grange will showcase its newly refurbished curtains at the 100th Danbury Grange Fair on Sept. 6.

The Grange Hall is on North Road across from the fire station, near the intersection of routes 4 and 104. For more about the project or the Grange, go to www.danburygrange.org or contact Charlotte at 768-5501 or mapakettlenh@msn.com.
