Dartmouth scientists say Peru glacier has shrunk since 1978




Sitting at an altitude of 18,600 ft, the Quelccaya Ice Cap is the largest glaciated area in the tropics. Spanning an are of 17 square miles, the glacier has lost approximately 20% of its area since 1978.
