Democrats say Cryans has support among Republicans in North Country Executive Council race

MANCHESTER — The state Democratic Party on Wednesday will release a list of 24 “current registered Republicans and former Republican leaders” who are backing Democrat Mike Cryans in the Executive Council special election to succeed the late Ray Burton.

Cryans faces Republican former state Sen. Joe Kenney in the March 11 election.

Among the names on the Republicans for Cryans list are Herb and Fay Lloyd of Bethlehem, former Republican state Sen. Mark Hounsell of Conway, who, according to the state Democratic Party, is now a registered independent; former Senate President Ralph Hough, who served as a Republican but later changed his registration to Democrat, and Republicans Lynn Presby of Freedom, who is a retired New Hampshire State Police colonel and current Racing and Gaming commissioner, Lynne Whitacre of Hanover, Dick Hamilton of Littleton, former state Rep. Bonnie Ham of North Woodstock and former Carroll County Commissioner Richard Coggon.
