Mass. man arrested in Greenland after high-speed chase on I-95

GREENLAND — A high-speed car chase that started in Greenland and reached speeds of more than 100 mph ended in Maine when the speeding car crashed into a snowbank, according to a release from state police.

Police said the car, driven by Justin Santiago, 28, of Dorchester, Mass., was heading north on Interstate 95 in Greenland when a trooper clocked the car going 108 mph.

Santiago refused to stop, continued driving north at a high rate of speed and entered Maine, where he took Exit 1 onto Route 103 and hit a snowbank, the release said.

Santiago and two passengers, whom police did not name, jumped out the car and ran away. Two of them were found near the Kittery, Maine, sewer treatment plant and a third was found after a police dog from the Wells, Maine, Police Department tracked him down.

Santiago was charged with reckless operation, speeding and disobeying an officer. He also faces several charges in Maine, police said.
