HOOKSETT — The discovery of a female body in a lightly wooded area between Sherwood Drive and the Cinemagic & IMAX movie theater Tuesday is being investigated as an "untimely death" the state's top homicide prosecutor said.

 

 

"It is not being investigated as a homicide," Senior Assistant Attorney General Jeffery A. Strelzin said.

 

 

An autopsy will be done on the body this afternoon that should provide more information about how the woman died, he said.

 

 

The New Hampshire Attorney General's office is involved in the case, Strelzin said.

 

 

Hooksett police and investigators with the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit were called to the area about 12:30 p.m. when police first received a report of a dead body.

 

 

The body was found in an area between the movie theater, located at 1226 Hooksett Road, and Sherwood Drive, a residential neighborhood.

 

 

Hooksett Police Chief Peter Bartlett confirmed the body was not that of a child, but provided no other details.

 

 

Barricades were placed on each side of the movie theater, limiting access to the rear of the building where a police officer stood guarding the area behind a large snow bank.

 

 

A Hooksett emergency response vehicle sat in the driveway of a home at 31 Sherwood Drive, and about a half-dozen marked and unmarked police cars lined the road.
