MANCHESTER — A man was stabbed in a parking lot behind a Lake Avenue bar on Monday night, police said
Ronald Vaughn, 44, of 413 Manchester St., No. 3, suffered a stab wound to his abdomen and was taken to Elliot Hospital for treatment, according to police. Sgt. Brian O'Keefe said his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Police were called around 8:30 p.m. to the parking lot behind Mike's Pub and Grub, near the corner of Lake Avenue and Pine Street.
Vaughn was conscious and able to speak to officers, but police were not disclosing what he said.
Police said Vaughn was alert and coherent as Officers Jon Duchesne and Tyler Shaw administered first aid while waiting for medical personnel to arrive on scene. Duchesne used an emergency first aid kit from his patrol car to slow the bleeding before EMTs arrived.
A person inside the bar who asked not to be identified said the man came inside the back door yelling he had been stabbed, and to call 911.
O'Keefe said Vaughn "is not very cooperative" and there were no witnesses to the stabbing.
