NH Attorney General: ‘Following leads’ in search for missing Abigail Hernandez

CONWAY — Each night a new number goes up on the Bring Abby Home Facebook page.

Tuesday night’s entry: “Day 133.”

“Abby, you are so missed! Your mom misses you every second of every day. She loves you more than anything and spends every day working to find you,” posted volunteer Amanda Smith of Conway.

“We don’t know if you can see these messages, but we hope and pray somehow you can,” said the message, which is similar to those for the prior 132 days, or at least those since the social media campaign was organized shortly after Abigail Hernandez disappeared on Oct. 9.

And more pleas come from her mother, Zenya Hernandez.

“I love and miss you terribly. I want to see you again. All I want is to see you. I think about you all the time. I wish that I could do something, if you need help. I don’t know how and what to do.”

“... Now, all we have left is the numbing quiet, and hope that we will see you again. I ask God to bring you home safely, and keep you safe at all times. I don’t think that you’ll be able to read this message, but I pray that you somehow can. I pray that you know that I love you, even if you can’t hear me say it.”

Law enforcement officials said they have no update to offer other than the search for the 16-year-old continues.

“They are out there, following leads, as dogged as ever, in some cases, they are more dogged than ever,” Senior Associate Attorney General Jane Young said. “This is still a very active investigation.”

There is a team of us working on this and we, as a team, have decided not to give a lot more detail at this time because doing so could jeopardize the investigation,” Young said. “Our concerns for this girl continue, we are very concerned about her whereabouts.”

Hernandez, 16, was last seen leaving Kennett High School, on foot. The FBI is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to her return home. Anyone with information should call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
