Merrimack police say man arrested after he refuses to move for plow truck

MERRIMACK — How many times has a tired homeowner wanted to stop that plow truck from sweeping by the just-shoveled driveway, just to pile up mountains of snow again?

One Merrimack man found himself in handcuffs after he stood in the road Tuesday night after police say he blocked the town's plow truck from pushing snow against the entrance to his driveway.

Menahem Lowy, 75, of 13 Mountain View Drive, is charged with disorderly conduct.

Police said a Merrimack Public Works plow driver called them at 8:15 p.m. after Lowy stood in front of the truck in the middle of the road, blocking it from plowing in front of his driveway.

Lowy refused to move until police arrived and he was arrested.

He is free on $1,000 personal recognizance bail pending a March 11 arraignment in 9th Circuit Court, Merrimack District Division.
