Latest storm will make it a short day for many students

Today's storm is expected to bring up to 7 inches of snow across southern New Hampshire and the Lakes Region, with 2-4 inches in western regions and 1-3 inches in northern Coos County.

Forecasters say snow is expected to start falling by midday, with up to an inch an hour coming down between 2 and 8 p.m.

The timing of the storm meant that many school systems decided to release students early today.

By Monday night, school districts in Londonderry, Nashua, Bedford, Auburn, Candia, Hooksett and Winchester were among those announcing classes would end as early as noon today.

Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be partly sunny and warmer, with highs around 40.
