Mass. man dies while skiing in White Mountain National Forest
NEW HAMPTON - A Lynn, Mass., man died Monday afternoon while cross-country skiing with his wife in the White Mountain National Forest, according to New Hampshire Fish & Game.
Ralph Cronin Sr., 67, died about 12:30 p.m. as he was cross-country skiing with his wife, Linda, on the Oliverian Brook Trail, off the Kancamagus Highway in Albany. He died about a half-mile from the trailhead, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game.
There was no cellphone reception in the immediate area, but a call for help was placed about 2 p.m. Personnel from the Conway and Center Conway fire and rescue services, the Carroll County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Forest Service responded and recovered Cronin's body.
