Man faces felony drug charge after traffic stop in Milton Monday

CRAIG WIGGIN

MILTON – Police arrested a local man who was wanted for simple assault after they noticed him driving along Route 125 near Lakeside Market Monday evening.

As a warrant had already been issued for Craig Wiggin, 35, of Kingsbury Drive – stemming from misdemeanor simple assault in town – he was taken into custody around 6:35 p.m.
A police officer reported he discovered about 7 ounces of heroin in the driver's side door pocket of Wiggin's vehicle during a routine inventory, and he was also charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, according to police.

The vehicle was towed from the scene and Wiggin was held on $1,000 cash bail in Strafford County Jail in Dover. He was later released and is scheduled to appear for arraignment in 7th Circuit Court, Rochester District Division, at a later date.
