BARRINGTON — Unlike previous years, MetroCast will not be recording the candidates’ forum so it’s important for residents to attend the event.

Members of the Barrington Public Library and the Greater Barrington Chamber of Commerce invite residents to participate in the candidates’ night, which is scheduled for Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Barrington Middle School.

Residents will have their say on town and district matters, including electing officials when polls open March 11 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Barrington Middle School.

Susan Guadiello is challenging incumbents George Bailey and Dawn Hatch for two three-year spots on the Board of Selectmen. Meanwhile there is a three-way race between George Bailey, Gilbert McCarthy and Rick Walker for a three-year term as a Cemetery Trustee.

On the school side, Garth Svenson and Ken Grant are both seeking a three-year term on the School Board.

The remaining town and school positions are uncontested.

Candidates will have an opportunity to make a statement before answering questions from participants.
