Maine man injured in snowmobile crash in Wentworth Location

WENTWORTH’S LOCATION — A Maine man was in stable condition Sunday night following a snowmobile accident.

At 10 a.m. conservation officers responded to the junction of Old Greenough Pond Road and Route 26 in Errol to investigate a report of a snowmobile accident.

Officials say Christopher Bertin of Boothbay, Maine, was operating his snowmobile off trail 129N on an old logging road in Wentworth’s Location, in an area where old culverts had been removed from a logging operation. According to Conservation Officer Eric Fluette, Bertin didn’t slow down for a ditch in the trail, hitting the ditch bank. Errol Rescue personnel responded, transporting him out to an ambulance. He was transported to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital for treatment, where he was listed in stable condition.
