West Lebanon man charged following hit-and-run crash in Vt.

Police in Vermont will charge a 23-year-old West Lebanon man in a hit and run crash after, they said, he gave them false information in an effort to avoid being arrested.

Sean Hurd, 23, of West Lebanon, was allegedly involved in a crash in Wilder, Vt., in which his Nisson Xterra SUV backed into another vehicle.

Police said Hurt sped away from the scene at a high rate of speed and later provided false information in order to avoid disclosing his true identity.

At the time, police said, he was wanted on a New Hampshire fugitive warrant. A Vermont warrant will be sought by police for his arrest.
