John DiStaso's Granite Status: New GOP web video hits Shaheen for Obamacare comment; Dems tell Brown to pay back email income
FRIDAY, FEB. 7: AS EXPECTED, Republicans have been having a field day with Sen. Jeanne Shaheen's comments during recent interview on a Concord radio station that those who want to keep their health plans will be able to do so if they are "willing to pay more."
And as expected, Democrats are continuing to criticize Republican potential Shaheen opponent former Sen. Scott Brown for renting his email list to a firm that used it and his name to send out an email touting a controversial doctor who has espoused theories at odds with scientific evidence.
On Thursday, the National Republican Senatorial Committee released a web video that plays the infamous Shaheen clip from WKXL radio and says "it's the Democrats' new health care fix -- to keep your doctor, just pay more."
The Democrats, meanwhile, called on Brown to return $55,000 his political action committee reportedly collected last year for renting out his email list.
Brown severed his ties with the vendor on Wednesday, but the state Democratic Party says Brown was "spreading misleading and dangerous" health-related information.
