Granite State OLLI offers class previews

HOOKSETT — Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Granite State College will host its annual Spring Class Preview and social on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at the Hooksett Library, 31 Mount Saint Mary’s Way in Hooksett.

The program is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sign-in will begin at 1 p.m. This location provides ample space and parking to accommodate the increased number of OLLI members and friends in the Manchester area.

The preview will give OLLI members and the public a sneak peek at the classes prior to registration. Class presenters will briefly describe and highlight their individual classes.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet the OLLI staff, become an OLLI member, add names to the mailing list, plus socialize with OLLI members and friends while enjoying some light refreshments.

There will be no class registrations at the preview, but membership applications will be accepted. For more information regarding the class preview or to add a name to the mailing list, contact the OLLI office at 513-1377. The spring classes begin March 24. There are no tests, no credits and no grades; just learning for the fun of it.

Conway: Tuesday, Feb. 11 at noon. Granite State College, 55 Technology Lane, Conway.

Seacoast: Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 11:30 a.m., Portsmouth Public Library, 175 Parrott Ave., Portsmouth.

Concord: Thursday, Feb. 13 at 9:30 a.m. at Tad’s Place at Heritage Heights, 149 East Side Drive, Concord.

The membership-run OLLI program welcomes any participant over the age of 50 to its classes, where there aren’t any prerequisites or grades, but a genuine widely held passion for learning.

Meet Main Street by bus in Littleton

LITTLETON — Meet Main Street continues with a visit to the “Healthy Rhino” on Wednesday, Feb. 12, leaving the Senior Center right after lunch at about 12:45 p.m.

Cost is $2 for the bus. The owner, Barbara, will be talking about healthy food choices that may help eliminate some nagging health issues.
