Jared Gott scored a career-high 29 points to lead Salem past Dover 72-66 Thursday in a Division I boys’ basketball contest in Dover.

Gott had six 3-pointers for Salem (3-4), which led by as many as 17 points. Dover (1-9) trailed 55-42 after three periods, but outscored Salem 24-17 in the last quarter. Gott kept Salem afloat with six free throws in the fourth quarter.

Mike Felix had 12 points in the win and teammate Matt Vartanian tallied 11 points and 13 boards.




Campbell 54, Somersworth 40: The Cougars improved to 5-2 behind a strong defensive effort that forced 20 Somersworth turnovers.

Zach Bergeon led a balanced Campbell attack with 10 points. Harrison Vedrani and Kyle Shaw added eight apiece.

Sunapee 85, Newport 76: Isaiah Chappell scored 24 points and James Fitzgerald added 23 to lead the Sunapee boys’ basketball team past visiting Newport, 85-76, on Wednesday.

With the win, Sunapee, a Division IV school, improved to 7-2. Newport, a Division III school, suffered its first loss and is now 9-1.

Spencer Coronis led Newport with 34 points and Andrew Houde added 21.

Profile 72, Lisbon 25: In Bethlehem Wednesday, Ian Baker scored 18 points and Hunter Leighton added 14 for the 7-2 Patriots. Bailey Johnson and Eric Tholl each had 11 points in the win. Profile travels to Littleton (10-1) tonight.



Boys’ ice hockey

Kearsarge 2, ConVal 2:
In Andover Wednesday, ConVal tied the game with four minutes to play. Erik Leger scored ConVal’s first goal in the second period which tied the game at 1-1. Scoring for Kearsarge were Ryan Beattie in the second period and Caleb Cochran with eight minutes left in the game. Kearsarge goalie Cody Rowe had 34 saves. Sean Stinehar turned back 27 shots for the Cougars. Kearsarge is now 1-5-1 and ConVal is 2-5-1.
