SEABROOK — A man and woman charged in connection with a standoff at a Hampton Falls apartment earlier this month waived their probable cause hearings Wednesday and remain behind bars.
Daren Gragg, 37, and Melissa Amato, 31, faces many charges after their arrest on Jan. 14.
After waiving probable cause in Seabrook Circuit Court, their cases will go to Rockingham County Superior Court for possible grand jury indictments.They were arrested after an eight-hour standoff with police that began when officers arrived at their apartment on Route 1 to question them after they allegedly fled from Amesbury, Mass., police.They are accused of breaking into a neighbor’s apartment and barricading themselves inside before eventually agreeing to surrender.Gragg is charged with six counts of felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, falsifying physical evidence, receiving stolen property and burglary.Amato faces charges of receiving stolen property, falsifying physical evidence, and burglary. Their bail remains at $110,000 cash each, according to a court clerk.
