Portsmouth girls drop Goffstown, 48-42

GOFFSTOWN — Tighe Loche's red-hot second half helped propel Portsmouth's girls' basketball team to a 48-42 win over Goffstown Tuesday.

Loche scored 11 of her 13 points in the second half as Portsmouth (7-1) overcame 23-19 halftime deficit. Phoebe Collins added 10 for the Clippers.

Rene Roggenbuck led the Grizzlies with 10 points.

Cassidy Lalumiere and Molly McQueeney had nine points each.

Portsmouth led 12-10 after one quarter but the outside shooting of Cassidy Lalumiere and Molly McQueeney (4-for-4 from the foul line) helped the Grizzlies build their halftime lead.

Two Portsmouth starters, Abby Salvadore and Izzy Pafford, picked up their fourth fouls early in the third quarter and had to sit. But the Clippers still managed to score 18 points in the third, thanks to Loch's nine points and Portsmouth led 37-33 after three.

Portsmouth went to its press defense and put together a run to put the game away.

Goffstown dropped to 5-4.

Christie is the real deal

We have found Gov. Chris Christie to be the most consistent, the most confident in his abilities, the most tested under fire, and the most likely to regain the White House from a disastrous Democratic regime.
